Kassie: JQ is doing great. He'll be 5 on May 12.

2. You were a step mother to Dreama,before your son JQ was born. How did being a step mother help prepare youfor being JQ's mother?
Kassie: JQ and Dreama were and still are very different children.

3. How does your parenting style differ from James'?
Kassie: We are both very hands on.

4. Does JQ share any of the same interests and talents you enjoyed as a child?
Kassie: He loves to laugh.

5. In what way is JQ most like you, and in what way is he most different?
Kassie: He's happy like me, but he looks like Jimmy.

6. What are your hopes for JQ's future?
Kassie: To stay happy and kind.

7. Has JQ's hearing disability made a difference in the type of parent you are?
Kassie: Sure...but we don't make it the focus of our lives.

8. What advice would you give to other parents facing the same challanges?
Kassie: That it's not about you....It's about the child.

9. When JQ thinks of his mommy, what do you hope he thinks of first?
Kassie: She's crazy fun.

10. What part of parenting is harder than you expected?
Kassie: Getting older when you have an active little one.

11. What's your favorite quality in your own mother?
Kassie: She was tough.

Kassie: Wait til you're married.

Kassie: It will get easier...I hope.
